Description

Brain Fuel’s Medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) are sourced from non-GMO organic coconuts. Coconuts have the richest source of MCTs on earth. Medium-chain fatty acids consist of caprylic (C8:0), capric (C10:0) and lauric (C12:0) acids. These medium-chain fats in coconut oil are similar to fats in mother's milk and have similar nutraceutical benefits. 

MCTs differ from other dietary fats (i.e. long-chain fatty acids) in the way they are metabolised. MCTs are easier for the body to process based on their shorter chain lengths. The advantage of having a shorter chain is that these triglycerides can bypass the need to be broken down by bile, which allows them to go straight to the liver for processing. The liver is where the fat in your dog’s body is converted directly into ketones that the body and brain use for fuel.

MCT oil is known to improve cognitive function for aging and senior dogs. 

Preliminary evidence suggests that the MCTs found in coconut oil have antimicrobial properties.
